FLYABLE WEATHER

A sunny day does not always mean favorable flying weather. Conversely, a cloudy sky is not a bad sign. The wind direction and strength are the decisive factors for the feasibility of our flights. If the forecast is suitable, flights will take place as scheduled (no contacting). Please refrain from enquiring about the feasibility.

WEATHER-RELATED CANCELLATION

If weather conditions do not allow flights, you will be contacted within 24 h before your appointment. Please note that weather-related cancellations are made for safety reasons and in case of doubt, this decision can only be made on the day of the flight on site. In the event of cancellation by Fly Royal, the fare is not due. Payments will be fully refunded.

Outdoor clothing suitable to the weather conditions, a warming mid-layer top and a windproof jacket.

COMPANIONS

Accompanying persons should expect waiting times at the cable car station, which can only be avoided by pilot and passenger (VIP entrance).

TEGELBERG LANDING SITE

Tegelbergstrasse 33
87645 Schwangau

Meeting point is our station at the landing site, situated directly on the access road to the Tegelbergbahn (mountain cableway). Please come on time (meeting time = booked appointment).

If you would like to hike up the Tegelberg before your flight or take the cable car up ahead of your scheduled time, we can arrange to meet you at the take-off area. Please let us know in advance! Otherwise the meeting point is at our station at the landing site.

FLYING SITE TEGELBERG

The Tegelberg (1881 m) of the Allgäu region is among the most famous paragliding spots in the Alps. At the foot of the mountain sits Neuschwanstein Castle, surrounded by a picturesque landscape of mountains and lakes. Due to the favorable exposure of the mountain, the steep terrain, the high altitude (900 meters between take-off- and landing site), as well as an ideal infrastructure, the Tegelberg is a stunning flying site beyond compare. The mountain cablecar takes us directly to the launch site at 1730 m altitude. Our starting point for extended flights over the royal castles is framed by the mountain ranges of the Ammergau and Allgäu Alps and the Bavarian Alpine foothills with their numerous lakes.

PROCEDURE OF A TANDEM FLIGHT

At the meeting point, you will get to know your pilot and there will be enough time to ask any questions you may have. Here you can also deposit your luggage. A short walk away, the cablecar will take us up the Tegelberg to the launch site. After the safety briefing the flight equipment is put on and the take-off procedure is practiced. The paraglider is pulled up with powerful walking steps and the required body tension, against the resistance of the inflating glider. Now we are ready for TAKE-OFF! In sloping terrain, we accelerate with bold running steps and speed up until the glider takes us away. Important: Don't stop running before your pilot asks you to. This is crucial for the success of a safe take-off. Once we are airborne, you will forget all your fears and feel as free as a bird. Lean back and enjoy the ride! During the flight, pilot and passenger can easily talk to each other. The harness is save and comfortable. Landing is smooth and easy, either standing on your feet or sitting in the harness.
